The Detour, which is worth it!

Through the untouched Gluristal all the way up to Chäserrugg

Alp Sellamatt can be reached by chairlift or cable car from Alt St. Johann in less than 10 minutes. Over the high plateau, at the foot of Hinterrugg, head south-west into the spotless Gluristal through which you can climb the mountain trail all the way up to Hinterrugg from the west. From here, a few bends on the steep hillside lead you to the summit.
At the highest viewpoint of Churfirsten mountain range, you are rewarded with a unique panorama and a gorgeous view of the Walensee. Often you can watch the take-off of colourful hang gliders from Hinterrugg. Taking only a few more steps over a connecting ridge to Chäserrugg the gastronomic delights of the region await you in the new summit building.
